DreamCity and what comes

DreamCity

For some time wanted to remodel the blog. For my own risk I decided to install WordPress on your server, because MovableType was giving me many problems ... well actually I was giving the Arsys, my server, which as usual is 5 years behind the Internet.

Well, the main reason for the delay throughout the update has been the creation of a new production company, DreamCity Entertainment, which, together with my partners Dieciseisnueve, will face the production of "The Return of Elijah Urquijo," my first feature film.

After Explorers, we wanted to work on a fiction project. "Elijah" was around my head for years, side by side with Rafa we have developed to Ferrero thus become what we think is a great movie.

"Elijah" is an exciting project and has absorbed almost everything. Rafa is doing a splendid job with the script ... but the truth, has given us more of a headache. Preproduction has begun and you begin to feel the nervousness typical of this time: many things to do, start looking forward to it.

Rafa and worked with me on Explorers. He is a young writer of Valencia, in love with his profession and gives it all to projects both as DreamCity Quarter Moon taking place. But he would not have been possible to move forward Explorers. Someday I have to tell our adventures and misadventures in this series.

Breakfast hearings

I am satisfied with the result of "Explorers" on television. In recent days the program began to take power by positioning itself as one of the most watched programs. Waiting to publish every morning the Internet audience, with the steaming coffee cup in his hands and eyes still puffy from sleep reminds me of my days in college, when I expected to note that exam.

And once the data obtained, to interpret, compare, study, smile ... Explorers have achieved in their first 16 emissions increased late night audience of 7 at one point. I can speak of success when you consider he has not had a fixed schedule, and that the issue has fluctuated between 2330 and 2.00 in the morning. Loyalty to the audience with these ups and downs of hours is not easy, and do the numbers at 2 am beginning not to be easy.

"Explorers" was always a good idea and it still is. I look forward to a new stage of the program has already started and that I hope to go as well as this.

A picture for the story

During the summer of 2002 drove the short film in Los Angeles 'Paul's pictures', 'Pictures of Paul'. It was the final project each student in the New York Film Academy had to present. Only a few pass the test and their jobs would be projected in the Alfred Hitchcock Theater at Universal Studios. Quite a challenge.

The story had been born months earlier, one of those sleepless nights with Luis Torres, my friend and companion. Paul was a poor man who one day accidentally discovered that his old Polaroid camera took pictures of future events.

One of the first things I did during the pre-production was to organize a team of casting: Csulik sisters, Claire and Libby Csulik (to my right and left) that were part of the technical team of the film as assistant director and director of photography respectively, Tue Hoe (seated left), although not a student at NYFA, joined our group of friends that year, Melany Denise (seated center) and Pierre Kiwitt (seated right) were interpretation students who had previously worked more.

Organize an audition in Los Angeles is no easy task. We received over three hundred applications for the various roles and eventually about 20 people quoted. It all started early in the morning and by lunchtime we were done. That was when the team began this picture.

A few days ago I saw this picture. Claire and Libby now work in the film industry, film production in Pennsylvania. Tue Hoe is the head of a production company with representation in different countries: United Nomads. Kiwitt Pierre has become a popular Brazilian television star following a soap opera star, Eternal Magic. Melany was already famous when I met her in Los Angeles, but his career did nothing but thrive starred in several films and television series.

Our careers are ongoing. In some cases, have crossed back like mine with that of Melanie, which eventually became part of 'Explorers', or may do so soon, as Pierre in my most recent project, 'The Return of Elijah Urquijo'. I have to go over the picture again in a few years back to review what happened to that group of students.

Finally 'Paul's pictures' was selected.

Melany "the bomb"

Working with Melany is very simple. Just tell him what you want and from that moment you just have to let it work. Sometimes he told teammates, "if you do not feel like working today, no problem. Give the camera to Melany, tell where the REC and rolled back with the chapter. "

Indeed, Melany Denise is pure energy. And, always has a smile for everyone. Even in difficult times. I had the chance to see it in a couple of tough times, especially when we had to shoot underwater shots in Chapter 14, and always had a smile on his face.

Melany joined 'Explorers' second to last place. I had not considered as a presenter because in my subconscious remembered it as too large for the project. However, when I suggested he answered a resounding yes. At that time 'Explorers' is appreciated, and we have the talent of an actress like Melany is not easy today. Additionally, she came to fill the void that the absence of Pierre had left the project.

But that's another story.
